Be Aware

We have fallen for it before: the cereal box that screams "Fiber!" But one glace at the nutrition label reveals about as much whole grain as a powdered donut. "Buyer bewares!" Just because something is marketed as "healthy" doesn't mean it's actually good for you—even if it's from your favorite health-conscious brand or store. You need to watch out. For example, "Rice Dream, a company that offers ice cream alternatives, now offers chocolate pie." Sounds tasty, right? Before you toss it in your cart, take a good look at that label. "Three of the four pie choices are covered in a chocolate coating made with coconut oil and butter. Those are artery-clogging fats." Yucky!

So, all consumers be aware!
