Liquid Intelligence

Thirsty? Sports drinks like Gatorade provide important mineral salts that your body loses through sweat during intense, sustained exercise. But they're also full of sugar. This means if you’re quenching your thirst with a sports drink, those 45 minutes on the treadmill just went bye-bye, along with your thirst. Am I right? You can probably stick to plain old H20.
"Refueling on lost electrolytes isn't necessary for a regular 30-minute cardio workout, but hydration is. So be sure to drink water often. If you're training for a marathon or doing a three-hour cardio-kickboxing workshop, then opt for sport drinks with electrolytes, since they'll give you both the minerals and fluids you need. To avoid the sugar altogether, then go for Smart water or Function Water."
