Gardening: Get Sexy

Spring has sprung! And with the sunshine comes a whole new set of weekend activities to get you in motion and make the most of your furlough from the office. For novices and green thumbs alike, gardening can be a fantastic way to get the blood flowin' and reconnect with the earth. You shouldn't skip your workout altogether. Weeding, raking and hoeing won't burn the same calories as your regular treadmill routine, but it does promote health for mind, body and soul. As what I have read, the average 140-pound woman burns 317.52 calories in one hour of gardening. So guys, roll up your sleeves and get your hands in the dirt. You can reduce your stress and maybe make a start at growing your own vegetables. Be healthy and save money!

Tips How To Avoid Common Driving Errors

Bad driving happens everywhere. For me, as of now, I’m still learning how to drive. Drive until I learn how to be a better or good driver. Driving is easy; just it takes time and effort.
For those who knew already how to drive, here are some tips how to avoid the most common driving errors:

Don't Go in the Water: If there is any water in the road, check how deep it is before trying to cross. And don't be fooled into thinking that a four-wheel drive truck can act like a duck boat.

Keep the Pressure On: Check your tires regularly-under inflated tubes are dangerous. Tires should always be at the pressure specified in your car owner's manual.

Light It Up: Don't wait for rain or nightfall to turn on your lights. If your car doesn't have daytime running headlights, put them on and keep them on.

Keep Your Distance: On a tarmac road you should leave at least two seconds between your vehicle and the one in front. On an unsealed road, at least four seconds. The closer you are to the next car's bumper, the higher your chances of getting into accident if you're forced to stop short.

Stow It Low: It's always better to stash things inside the car than on the roof. But if you need the extra space, be sure to pack your goods correctly. Objects on the roof negatively affect the vehicle's center of gravity, making the car more unstable and harder to control. Every vehicle has a center point, which is roughly at the top of the gear lever. You want to put the heaviest stuff near the vehicle's center point, toward the middle of the vehicle.

Find a Focus: Don't get distracted by other people's bad driving habits. "When you become preoccupied with your frustration or find yourself in a temporary fit of road rage, recognize it and do what you need to do to calm down."

Check Your Vision: Sounds like a no-brainer, but if you can't see you can't drive-and it's more likely you will be a hazard not just to yourself but to other drivers on the road.

Lose the Ego: "Some think, 'Why should I wear my seatbelt when I am a better driver than anyone else?'". "Needless to say, this is not a good attitude. If you really are so sure that all other drivers are less capable than you are, that's an even better reason to drive slowly and defensively."

Slow Down: "Some drivers are advised to drive fast through hostile areas,” "This makes no sense. If, for example, you are fired upon while driving, it is even harder to control the vehicle traveling at a high speed."

Watch for Animals: "Animals don't walk backward," "If you see an animal in the road and can't fully stop in time, drive to where the animal came from."

Fun Workout

Who says your work-out has to feel like work? If you are tired going to gym and expense money for having a workout, why not try this fun and traditional way of exercise? Who playtime can be great for trimming your figure, so why not try some of your childhood favorites? Like hula-hooping! As a kid, you were probably way more concerned with keeping that hoop above your hips than you were about the calories it would burn and the muscles it would firm up. But firm and tone it does, and one thing hasn't changed; it's a whole lot of fun. Jumping rope—another playground classic— can also be amazingly effective exercise. Just 15 minutes of jumping can burn 150-200 calories. Get back your girlish figure with a fresh, fun workout.

How to Tell if You're Really Hungry

Do you know how to tell if you are really hungry? If not, check this out.

That empty feeling in your tummy might just be all in your head. Before you reach for the snack drawer or refrigerator, take a deep breath and get in touch with what your body is telling you. Is it food you need or something else? Thirst is often mistaken for hunger and even mild dehydration can slow your metabolism. Start your meal with a glass of water. You just may find you're a lot less hungry than you thought. Once you decide on a snack, think about the food you've chosen—its texture, scent, and flavor. As you eat, keep tabs on how satisfied you are. It might sound like a lot of work, but thinking about your food will change how much of it you eat. You might be surprised how quickly you're full!

Daddy's Little Girl

It starts with a simple test to see if the color will turn blue which means in nine months there will be a special some one new. The time goes by with many changes along the way as her body begins to show the signs of that special person to be born one day. The day has arrived for that most anticipated ultra sound which will give us an idea for a name when the time comes around. The doctor looks into the monitor for little clues then he tells us it’s a girl’s name you need to choose. As I look in the monitor to see the little clues I think to myself how could he possibly know all I see are what I think are fingers and toes.

Ashley Myles is the name we chose, this will be the name of our daughter that we will enjoy as we watch her grow. When she was born and lying next to her mom in that hospital bed the name Ashley Myles kept popping into my head. The day will come when she is all grown and she will move out into the world to be on her own. When that day comes everyone will say that Ashley Myles sure has grown in a great way. I can not try to imagine when that day will come because I will always think of her when she was young. Ashley Myles is her name but to her proud father she will always be Daddy’s Little Girl.

Reasons to Eat Yogurt

Believe this one coz I have always yogurt in my refrigerator for my dessert or snack. Yogurt is pretty kick-ass. Probiotics (that's friendly bacteria) found in yogurt, like Bifidobacterium or Lactobacillis, have been shown to relieve digestive issues (they keep you regular) and the active culture Lactobacillus casei can help fortify your immune system. But that's not all! A daily dose of just 3 ounces can lower your cholesterol, and because calcium-rich diets have been linked to fat loss, may actually help you slim down faster. One cup of organic, fat-free yogurt (plain) has 110 calories, 9 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber.

For all the benefits of this smooth, creamy snack choose yogurts with live active cultures. And to avoid the added sugar (and calories) that comes with flavored yogurt, try adding your own fresh or frozen fruit.

Psst! When possible, go all-natural or organic. Many "light" varieties of popular brands contain High Fructose Corn Syrup - which in recent studies, has been shown to disrupt liver function and increase bad cholesterol.

Be wise! Think of your health coz health is wealth.

Secret to Being Naturally Thin

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to just naturally stay slim while others gain weight just looking at food? A new study may shed some light on why: It all boils down to brain chemistry.

Researchers studied the differences in MRI responses in people who were "naturally" thin and those who struggled with their weight with some interesting results. They found it took longer for the area of the brain called the left amygdala to register "fullness" in overweight people than thinner ones. Or in other words, heavier people had to eat more food and more calories to get the same signal that said "stop." Researchers said the discovery may someday lead to a treatment for overeating.

If you tend to overeat, you can put this news to work in your favor right now by starting your meals with a low-calorie soup or a salad with low-calorie dressing first to help encourage a feeling of fullness without a lot of calories, and then by taking your time when you eat, which will give your brain more time to register satisfaction. Soon others will be wondering how you stay so "naturally" thin, too!

A Piece of Appreciation

Got this tag from Jana...Thanks a lot Jan.
Now it's my time to share the things that I'm grateful of...
I'm so grateful of my PARENTS, for sending me in school, for giving me the education I need…we don't have so much when I was growing up, but I've learned so many things from them that I valued so much until now, the things that shaped me, not to be the best, but a better person. It's true that family life is full of drama and lots of drama, we are one of it, but we stick together as one family, whatever happens to the world we are family and I can't change it and I don't want to change it.
I'm so grateful of all my trusted friends especially the KABERKS friends (inah, serjean, airene and ghing) and my college board mate winggay, they always there to help me back on my feet when I stumbled many times, when I'm on the deepest part of my life, they never let go off their hands on me and never turn their back on me. A friends who always there to listen to me and always there to lend me a helping hand, I thank them so much because their door is always open for me, I consider them as my family, my big sisters and mom.
I'm grateful of my husband for loving me as I am and for taking good care of me, For making me happy each day and making me feel secure in his hands, For giving me such importance and so much attention and so much more to mention.
And most of all, to God...for all the blessings He gave me...I'm so grateful!
