Recent research shows that even strict dieters and those who exercise faithfully tend to lose weight at a slower pace than expected because on weekends—particularly on Saturdays—they tend to eat more than during the week.What to do? Keeping a food journal helps, as does planning ahead. "If you know you are going to be out all day shopping, pack a healthy lunch to avoid the temptation of the food court. If you're going to be at the park with your kids, bring snacks for everyone so that you don't need to make an emergency stop at McDonald's."
